The Metallist City Sports and Entertainment Centre
will be located close to Metallist Stadium, that is to say in the very centre of Kharkiv on the corner of Plekhanovskaya Street and Derzhavinskaya Street. The site has a unique location, being situated at the intersection of two metro lines. The development of the complex (total area of more than
147, 844 sq. m on over
5 hectares) will be completed
by 2011.
The shopping and entertainment centre will accommodate the largest hypermarket in Kharkiv, a children’s centre, sports stores, supermarkets, boutiques of leading brands, a multi-screen movie-theatre, a bowling club, public catering facilities, and a parking lot of high capacity.
The complex commissioning is timed to coincide with Euro 2012. However, after the end of the continental football championships, it will serve to popularize a healthy life-style among the citizens of Kharkiv.

Current Stage of the Project
- The foreign (Altoon Porter) and local (KTM Mir) architects have been selected.
- The draft design of the property and the adjacent area development has been worked out and approved by the City Planning Council.
- The project design is being developed and is to be completed by spring 2009.
- The contractor for dismantlement has been selected.
- The preparation stage design (preparation of the site for construction) has been developed and is being agreed upon with the respective city agencies.
- Project stage documentation is being prepared
