After its reconstruction the Metallist Regional Sport Complex
will be one of the largest football arenas in the country. It will seat
41.5 thousand spectators (including
750 VIP-guests) and host final and semi-final matches. Only Shakhtar Stadium, currently under construction in Donetsk, will be able to meet similar requirements.
A new up-to-date roof will shelter
100% of the spectator seats. The reconstructed stands will accommodate changing rooms and shower facilities for sportsman, rooms for referees, television and radio commentators, premises for security services, three television studios, a press-conference hall, etc. The stadium will be equipped with up-to-date security systems and modernized electric power supply facilities. In addition, a transport terminal next to the venue will be reconstructed.

- Compliance with UEFA requirements
- Creation of an up-to-date complex where large-scale sports and entertainment events can be held
- Popularization of a healthy life-style and active leisure philosophy among the Kharkivites
- Increase in the international prestige of Kharkiv as a modern sports arena.
Current Stage of the Project:

Сonstruction of the complex of the East and South Grandstands has been completed

100% of the area behind the East Grandstand has been landscaped

The area adjacent to the North Grandstand is being landscaped (75% of works have been completed)

A heat supply station for heating of the all premises located under the grandstands has been put in operation

All types of networks and communications have been relocated

Cable networks for heating of the football field have been installed

An electrical substation with a capacity of 500 kW has been constructed

48 foundations for supports for a new stadium roof have been prepared, 80% of works on metal structures assembly have been carried out

A multifunctional 5 level VIP extension to the West Grandstand is being constructed. The basement premises are being finished. The fourth level of the building is currently under construction

Construction of the parking lots at Khramovaya Street and Vlasovsky Lane has been completed

Construction of additional emergency exits has been completed.

A concept concerning IT-technologies and TV has been developed and got an approval from the UEFA experts.

A contract has been signed on supply of two multimedia screens of 86 sq. m. each and an advertising line of 250 sq. m. produced by Barco, as well as a Mondo running track certified in accordance with the IAAF standards.

As of June 1, 2009, 76% of the total works were carried out.
