JSCIB UkrSibbank is included in DCH’s sphere of interest. DCH controls 24.5 % of the bank. The official ceremony of signing a contract for the purchase of 51% of JSCIB UkrSibbank stock took place on December 20, 2005. The purchaser was BNP Paribas. 49% of UkrSibbank stock still belongs to the previous shareholders. This deal was the first example of a real partnership between a powerful domestic group of companies and a mature European business.
Performance Indicators
JSCIB UkrSibbank (established in 1990) is the largest Ukrainian bank. It ranks third in terms of assets and investment portfolio. The bank is one of the leaders on the market for small and medium businesses.
Strategic Prospects
Integration of JSCIB UkrSibbank in an international banking group entailed both the introduction of new banking technologies and products, and the lifting of many restrictions on the bank’s private capital growth.
