General Information
The LLC Merefa Glass Company is the region’s leading manufacturers of glass containers. The factory was founded in 1896 and has a great history. Today it is one of the few Ukrainian enterprises in this sector which constantly introduces innovative technologies and improves production processes in accordance with international standards. The factory is of extremely high social and economic value to Merefa and accounts for a significant part of the town’s income.
Production Capacity
From 2006 to 2008 the enterprise carried out a full modernization programme in accordance with international best practices. Its production capacity has significantly increased. As a result, virtually a new plant was constructed based on technologies of HEYE International, a German company, and the plant capacity has reached 300 million colourless glass containers of various sizes and shapes a year. The company also introduced the unique for Ukrainian market technology of Narrow Neck Press and Blow (NNPB), which makes the manufacture of highly durable glass bottles of smaller weight possible.
Strategic Prospects
Strategic prospects for the company are favorable because of the unique highly efficient production technology, a favourable location of the enterprise in the close vicinity of the regions consuming its production. Production of of beer, non-alcohol drinks and distilled beverages has great potential for development.
