Metallist Football Club (Kharkiv) is one of the strongest football clubs in Ukraine. In 2005 it celebrated its 80th anniversary. In the 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons, Metallist achieved its highest place in the history of the Ukrainian championships – it ranked third and earned the right to play in the UEFA Cup, setting several club records at once. For example, Marko Dević, a forward of the Club, was acknowledged to be the best striker in the Ukrainian Championship of 2007/2008.
In July 2007 a sponsorship contract was signed between the DCH Group and Metallist Football Club. The DCH brand is promoted through its logo presence on the team’s strip, as well as sponsorship in different media-projects of the club, etc.
In addition, the DCH Group is investing considerable amounts of money in the reconstruction of Metallist, the region’s sports centre and the club’s home ground. The company is also involved in projects designed to prepare the Ukraine for Euro 2012. This entails not only modernization of the stadium, but also regeneration of adjacent areas.
