On the opening day on August 28 this year the new passenger terminal of International airport "Kharkiv", built for Euro 2012, will send and take the regular flights to Kyiv.
This correspondent was told in the press service of Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy`s DCH company, which is engaged in construction and reconstruction of Euro 2012 objects in Kharkiv.
"By the opening day of the new airport terminal, 28 August, this facility will be ready for everything 100%", - said the press service representative. Moreover, he said, "areas for both domestic and international flights will be fully prepared to receiving aircrafts and passengers”.
The new terminal is designed for 650 passengers an hour, and this power will be fully realized at the time of the continental championship football games in 2012. The project of preparation of airport "Kharkiv" to Euro-2012 also provides the reconstruction of the historic airfield building, construction of the temporary terminal, construction of a new runway, the bus station. "The works on these objects have started, and they will be put into operation as planned", - noted the service representative.
He recalled that the previous agreement to take part in the opening of a new terminal of airport "Kharkiv" gave the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-2012 Boris Kolesnikov. At the opening ceremony of the terminal is expected the participation of representatives of central and local authorities, diplomats, representatives of the airline industry from different countries and other officials. Guests will tour facilities of Euro 2012 (Metalist stadium, youth football academy, FC Metalist training base, Liberty Square). Also a concert with the participation of groups "Ocean Elzy", "Stranstviya", "Sky”, “Real`o” and others.
According to the press service, the new terminal of airport "Kharkiv" will be opened 3 months earlier than initial schedule had anticipated.

International airport "Kharkiv” is being renovated under preparation for 2012. The project started on 1 April 2008, when the company "New Systems AM (DCH group) won the competition for the rental of a complete property complex of the Kharkiv airport. The reconstruction project includes the construction of the new terminal, reconstruction of existing one, construction of a new runway and apron repair, improvement of the station square. After completing the reconstruction Kharkiv airport will be able to take a variety of aircrafts like the aircraft type Airbus A-320 and Boeing B-737. The new terminal area of more than 20 thousand square meters will increase passenger service to 650 thousand people per year by 2011. The reconstruction of the hotel at the International airport "Kharkiv" and the creation of a modern parking lot, construction of bus terminal on the square in front of the International airport "Kharkiv" is also planned.
The cost of reconstruction of the International airport "Kharkiv" is UAH 1086.53 mln. (including construction and installation works - 759.5 million, equipment - 81.6 million, others - 245.4 million).
The cost of reconstruction of the International airport "Kharkiv" consists of two components: the investment of the private investor Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy (DCH group president, the general investor and coordinator of Kharkiv preparation to Evro-2012) and funding from the state budget. The airport complex reconstruction, construction of a new terminal, reconstruction of existing one, creating of a temporary terminal, reconstruction of the station square, a number of other works are being financed by Yaroslavskyy. The airfield (as well as airfields in all other Ukrainian airports - it is a strategic object, which is state property, and, therefore, is reconstructed through budget funding) is being financed from the state budget. The total ammount of A. Yaroslavskyy`s investments (airfield complex, airfield square) – UAH 508.8 mln. The total ammount of state investments (financing from the state budget to the airfield complex reconstruction) – UAH 1086.53 mln. Total investment – UAH 1595.53 mln.
DCH group (beneficiary - Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy) is implementing a complex program of Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012. The program includes the reconstruction of several objects of sports infrastructure (including Metalist Stadium) and the International Airport "Kharkiv".The total investment of Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy in Kharkiv preparation for Euro 2012 at the end of the first half of 2010 exceeded UAH 2 billion.
