National Dutch team hopes to play the games of the final part of the European Football Championship 2012 in Kharkiv.
According to the press service of the Kharkiv City Council, it was declared by the Second Secretary of Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Ukraine Rogier van Tooren during a meeting with First Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv Aleksander Krivtsov.
During the meeting, at which the sides discussed city`s preparation to the Championship as well as the preparation to receive the teams and fans, the Dutch diplomat noted the high level of Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012.
"We are amazed at the level of preparation and quality of work", - said Rogier van Tooren. "The Dutch team - he added - has already passed the qualification for Euro 2012 and hopes to play in Kharkiv."
Embassy representative said that in the city where the the Dutch team plays, is usually visited by a lot of fans. "As of today - he said, - 6000 tickets for the Dutch fans were reserved, but the number of fans who will come to the Netherlands to support the team will be far greater." The diplomat added that "in the city, where our team plays, we make the traditional Dutch campsite. And we are pleased that in Kharkiv they create all necessary conditions for the Dutch fans."
Rogier van Tooren said that "Kharkiv citizens have high enough level of English, which is important for the guests of Euro 2012 in Ukraine."
He also said that the infrastructure prepared for the championship is at the highest level.
"I would also like to note the terminal of international airport "Kharkiv", as well as Metalist stadium. I am sure that such a stadium could easily decorate any city of the Netherlands", - said Rogier van Tooren.
A. Krivtsov, in turn, said that most of the issues of Kharkiv's preparations for Euro 2012 are "nearing to their completion".
"An open question is only the one about roads and infrastructure. At present, we expect financial assistance from Kyiv, from the state budget to finish what we have begun", - said A. Krivtsov.
He also said that in Kharkiv have already been visited by the delegations from countries, whose teams are supposed to play here, and assured the representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, that there will be no problems with the placement of teams.
As you know, in the summer of 2012 Kharkiv will host the games of the group stage of finals of European Football Championship.
