Bert van Oostveen, director of the National Football Union of the Netherlands, gave an interview to "Metalist" magazine following his visit to Kharkiv Euro-2012 objects that FC "Metalist" if in charge of, and a meeting with club president Aleksander Yaroslavskiy.
- Mr. Oostveen, tell us about your impressions after visiting Metalist stadium.
- I`ve been working in the National Football Association of the Netherlands for 16 years now, so I`ve witnessed a lot of tournaments. The last championship which I saw was World Cup in South Africa. And from my experience, I can say that Metalist stadium which I saw yesterday in Kharkiv, is fully compliant to the arenas, hosting the events such as Euro 2012. We are very much looking forward to the tournament and really want to play our three matches at the stadium!
- You've also seen FC Metalist training ground in Vysokiy village. Did you like it?
- As I`ve already said to Mr. Yaroslavskiy, I visited many clubs - not only in Netherlands but throughout Europe. I was in Spain, France, Italy... And the base, which I saw, can compete with the grounds of the best clubs in Europe!
- What do you think, can Kharkiv take the “orange invasion" of Dutch fans in June?
- Yes, it has already been sold about five thousand tickets for each match, we expect this figure will rise to at least ten thousand. But I think, even more visitors will come to the stadium.
- How do you think, will Dutch guests like the city?
- Of course. The Dutch fans are very positive and very friendly. They are always cheering, always celebrating. They would really like the city center, the main square. And, of course, we will organize a large orange march from the square to the stadium. So it will be as crazy as it was on the World Cup in South Africa, and in Switzerland.
