On August 28 in Kharkov was opened a new terminal of International Airport Kharkiv.
Terminal with area of 20 thousand m2 and with a capacity of 650 passengers per hour automatically makes Kharkiv airport of the European level. Its construction cost about $ 55 million. Another 137.5 million was allocated from the state budget for reconstruction of the airport under state ownership. Reconstruction of the airport is in preparation for international football championship Euro-2012.
The opening ceremony was attended by President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
This terminal is a symbol of the development of a very interesting region of Ukraine - Slobozhanshchina. Building of such a facility with participation of investments will open to partners in the world not only Kharkiv, but all the East of the country. The new terminal with a capacity of 2 million passengers a year will allow the Kharkiv airport to take up to four times more passengers than ever before. UAH 433 million – this are actually means of a private investment company headed by Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy. This is a vivid example of how we can develop our country. Euro 2012 opens for our country entirely new possibilities" said the President. He also expressed hope that Ukraine is not only to successfully hold a football championship but will also be preparing for the Winter Olympics in the Carpathians in 2022.

The investor of reconstruction of International airport "Kharkшv" is DCH group (Kharkiv) controlled by businessman Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy, the president of DCH group, FC "Metalist", the general investor and the coordinator of Kharkiv`s preparation to EURO-2012. End of reconstruction of an air field part is planned on the end of 2011, and the end of building of the temporary terminal which will provide reception of fans during peak loading - in April of 2012.
As Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy has informed, temporary terminal, probably, will be reoriented in the cargo one. Cost of works on its building, and also design throughput are not specified yet.
DСН intends to reconstruct the old terminal at the airport after testing the new one. According to the president of the company, it will be happening during one and a half-two months. The old terminal after reconstruction will be used for reception VIР-пассажиров. Cost of its reconstruction was not specified also.
The businessman has informed that cost of the terminal which has opened on August, 28th, makes approximately 80 million dollars from which now it was allocated about 45 million dollars, and term of its recoupment - about 15-17 years.
As it became known, the group of companies Development construction holdings (DСН) intends to construct one more temporary terminal for reception of visitors which will arrive on football matches, up to the time of hosting the football championship Euro-2012.
