On June 7-9 in Kharkiv in the World Forum on the development of air routes Animals in World Route Development Forum there was the International airforum Routes CIS. Event of such a level and scale was held in the CIS for the first time.
785 participants from 35 countries paid tribute to Kyiv with their presence. Among them were the heads of airlines, airports, service providers and equipment for the industry. The forum featured a series of special events. In particular, at an industry conference, delegates discussed the state of the airline industry in the CIS. The themes of the sessions were: the strategic development of airports, the role of public-private partnership in the aviation sector, new technological solutions for airports. The speakers were 19 delegates of the airforum. A professional exhibition, which was attended by more than 50 companies, has given to all forum participants the opportunity to witness and even test the equipment, and get full information about it, make business contacts and negotiate with suppliers on partnership. The total exhibition area was 750 square meters. According to organizers, this was a serious contribution to the formation of a favorable international image of Ukraine - first of all, of an investment one.
The format of the first industry event for the development of airports was "three in one»: Routes CIS - the first in the CIS strategic forum on the development of air routes, the International Conference AIRFORUM.UA, as well as specialized exhibition of the equipment, services, systems and technologies for airports. This structure allowed to get the most opportunities for making business contacts and contracts.
"Foreign visitors saw that Ukraine is a country that is developing dynamically, and that could work and earn. Those business contacts, which were made during these three days, and those agreements that were signed between the companies will work in the future for all of Kharkiv citizens. We have reached an agreement on flights to Istanbul, Budapest, Milan, Paris and Germany - that is, previously not covered areas. I hope that the residents of our city will now be able to quietly pack up and fly to drink coffee in Paris, dress in Milan and to very convenient go back without any transplants" - summed up the event Aleksandr Yaroslavskyy - DCH president, the general investor and coordinator of Kharkiv preparation for Euro- 2012, the initiator of the airforum.
In addition, it was announced that the draft of temporary airport terminal to the Euro-2012 is finished in Kharkiv. The General manager of the International Airport "Kharkiv" Volodymyr Vasylchenko noted: "The special program of preparation for Euro 2012 takes into account the requirements of UEFA and provides a sufficiently high intensity of traffic - 2500 passengers per hour. Given that by that time the airport "Kharkiv" will have three terminals, as well as a simplified border crossing, its capacity will reach this standard. In particular, a new terminal will give 1300 passengers per hour, 1000 - temporary one and 250 - the acting one. It is quite real."
Special guest of the airforum was the son of the legendary aircraft builder - Andriy Antonov. He participated in the opening of the forum. In addition, a surprise for all guests was a concert of Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of artistic director and conductor Yuriy Yanko in the building of the terminal itself, as well as a presentation of sketches of the new uniforms for the airport, which has been undertaken to develop by the famous Kharkiv designer Konstantin Ponomarev.
According to the organizers, during the forum there was held more than 400 negotiations. As the company Routes believes, for the CIS it`s a grand result. The fact that thanks to airforum one of the largest budget carriers of the world - the Irish company Ryanair entered the CIS market for the first time is also noteworthy.
